On Friday 20th March pupils are welcome to come into school wearing something red for Comic Relief. If pupils do not have anything red, they are welcome to just wear non uniform, if they wish. World Book Day This week we celebrated World Book Day  by sharing and appreciating our love of reading. The children created some fantastic pieces inspired by books they have read, proudly presenting and sharing their creations with the class. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm for stories and to hear the children talk about their favourite books and characters. In English this week, we’ve been diving into The Twits  and having lots of fun writing letters of complaint addressed to the very grumpy Mr Twit — straight from the point of view of the Muggle-Wump monkeys! 🐒✉️ I have been so  impressed by the children’s creativity, independence, and confidence when writing. English This week, we continued to enjoy The Twits , diving into the wonderfully revolting humour of Roald Dahl. The children especially loved exploring the “Wormy Spaghetti” chapter and even had a go at writing their own versions. English This week in English, we have continued reading The Twits  and have really enjoyed getting to know the mischievous characters. We’ve been exploring their personalities and settings, and the children have been busy writing detailed character and setting descriptions of Mr Twit and his house and garden. As part of our current reading and writing work on The Twits  by Roald Dahl, we will be watching short snippets from the film adaptation The Twits , which has recently been added to Netflix. These carefully selected clips will be used to support pupils’ understanding of characters, settings, and themes, and to inspire discussion and writing linked directly to the book we are studying in class. A reminder we break up for Christmas on Friday 19th December. School finishes at 1.15pm on this date and all children must be collected at this time unless they are in Years 5 & 6 and are a home walker. Monday 5th January is a PD day therefore, school is closed on this day. All pupils return on Tuesday 6th January 2026!

We are holding our Christmas Carol service on Thursday 11th December, 1.30pm at the Baptist Church. All children apart from children in Beech class (Reception) will be taking part in this Carol Service. Beech class children have their Nativity on 5th December.
