Happy Friday! We have been looking at the story 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley' which is about a plastic bag that is swept into the sea and swallowed by some of the sea creatures. We talked about looking after our environment and keeping the sea clean. We have also been talking about reusing and recycling and been creating ocean scenes using cardboard and egg boxes that have been brought in from home. What a great way to end our week with the fun afternoon! The children all had a great time. This week, we started the week finding a locked treasure chest and talked about what we thought could be inside. When we found the keys we discovered coins and gems inside. We looked at how many we had and ways to make 5 and 10. After sorting the gems, the children compared amounts, noticing which group had more/less and how many each group had. Happy Friday! It has been a short, but busy week. This week we have been looking at the story 'Tiddler'. The children have enjoyed joining in with the story, thinking of their own excuse why Tiddler is late, using the net to collect sea creatures and talking and writing about what they can see in our curiosity cube.
