Our mischievous elves have certainly kept us on our toes this week! They’ve thrown a disco party in the classroom, transformed themselves into snowmen, munched on Pringles, and even left cheeky messages about Miss Hipkiss while she was away. What a playful bunch!
In English, we have been learning to write newspaper reports all about the Great Fire of London. The children have drawn on their History knowledge to explain how the fire began, what happened during the event, and the important changes London had to make afterwards. They’ve produced some fantastic reports!
In Maths, we have now come to the end of our Shape unit. This week, the children have been exploring 3D shapes—counting faces, edges and vertices, sorting different sha pes, and continuing or designing their own patterns using them. They’ve worked brilliantly and shown great understanding!
We had a fantastic PSHE lesson this week, focusing on cooperation and teamwork. The children worked brilliantly together, using clear communication to complete a fun challenge—squeezing their bodies through hoops without letting go of each other’s hands! Even Miss Hipkiss managed to make it through with a little help from her team!
After a full week of festive carol singing, we hope everyone enjoys a well-earned rest this weekend. The Christmas countdown is officially on!
Well done to our Crowmoor Certificate winner, Tailyn, and our Reading Rex winner, Spencer! Congratulations to both of you!
Wishing everyone a wonderfully festive weekend!
Miss Hipkiss and Mrs Armstrong
