Remote and Blended Learning

DSC_2358.jpg

We continue to provide a Remote & Blended Learning package. Due to COVID-19 and its continued evolution, it may be necessary in the future that school closures may be inevitable. Although we are doing everything within our powers to negate the possibility of this, sometimes it may be unavoidable.

Teachers will set work, through Remote Learning using Microsoft Teams. Every child within the school has access to an individual email address through Microsoft Teams and Office 365. Your child's details are available from the Class Teacher on an as required basis.

Work should be accessed through the Microsoft Teams platform. Work is set daily through the assignments widget and allows work to be returned to school for marking via the same software. Paper copies of set work are available by prior arrangement from the School Office.

We have a limited number of devices available for loan in order to be able to access Remote Learning. If you require a device, please contact the School Office in the first instance.

Attendance in person at school is essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including for their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances. Remote or blended education should not be viewed as an equal alternative to attendance in school. We will only consider remote and blended learning as a last resort where the alternative would be no education, and only after it has been established that the pupil is, or will be, absent from school. In such cases, remote education can have the benefit of allowing absent pupils to keep on track with their education and stay connected to their teacher and peers.

If you are having issues with connectivity or hardware, please contact the school for additional support.
