This week has been full of exciting learning across the curriculum. In English, we have been analysing and exploring the key features of a short narrative. Using the animated stimulus Alma, the children discussed how authors create atmosphere, develop characters, and build tension within a story. They showed great enthusiasm and thoughtful ideas during discussions and written activities.
In Maths, we have begun our new unit on fractions, decimals, and percentages. The children have been learning how to identify equivalent fractions and decimals, divide fractions, and develop a clear understanding of what percentages represent. They have approached these new concepts with confidence and a positive attitude, applying their knowledge through a range of problem-solving tasks.
In Design and Technology, the focus this week was on developing practical food preparation skills. The children learned how to peel, grate, and chop foods safely and effectively. They demonstrated a strong understanding of kitchen safety and handled the equipment responsibly, which was fantastic to see.
On Tuesday, we walked to Belvidere Secondary to watch their performance of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'- we really enjoyed watching the children and seeing the drama facilities.

Well done to this week’s certificate winner Alfie S.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Bliss and Mr Jones
