🌟 This Week in Elm Class! 🌟

It’s been another busy and exciting week in class, with lots of fantastic learning taking place!

📰 English

In English this week, we have written some fantastic newspaper reports about a roly-poly bird that was spotted flying over The Twits’ house! The children showed great imagination and enthusiasm, thinking carefully about headlines, reports, and eyewitness accounts. Please take a moment to read the brilliant example of children’s work below — we are incredibly proud of their efforts!

🔢 Maths

In Maths, we have continued to develop our knowledge of the 2 times table, focusing on doubling and halving to help simplify calculations and improve speed. The children have been working hard to build confidence and fluency — keep practising at home to help this learning really stick!

🍓 Design & Technology

In D&T this week, we had a great time tasting a variety of fruits as we began planning our very own fruit salad. There were lots of thoughtful discussions about flavours, textures, and preferences, and the children thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on learning experience!
