Sycamore Newsletter - 6.2.26

Good afternoon,

This week the children have really demonstrated how neat their handwriting can be, which has led to their books looking very well presented and I am sure you will be happy to see them next week.

In English we have moved on to newspaper reports. The children have done well at identifying and understanding the use and need for fronted adverbials and the correct tense. In maths we have also started a new topic and that’s on length and perimeter. Most of the children have grasped perimeter well and have got stuck into some tricky questions.

For art and design, we have continued our look at the detail in fruit and vegetables, and the children were tasked with producing a scale model of a piece or fruit of their own choosing. Here is a picture of some of them.

This week we have carried out our monthly star reader test and a few children are still making good progress however a lot have started to slow down. Please keep encouraging them to read daily at home it does make a huge difference.

I hope you all have a good weekend, and I look forward to seeing all of you next week at parent’s evening,

Mr Reynolds
