Hazel Weekly Newsletter 6.2.26

Happy Friday! We have had a busy week in Hazel Class.

In Maths, we have been Measuring as part of our Length and Perimeter topic. We have been looking at Metres, Centimetres and Millimetres and debating which measurement we would use for different items. We also measured some of ourselves to look at different heights.

In English we are looking at how to write a Book Report as we come to the end of the half term. We have practiced using conjunctions and adverbials to make our writing more interesting, and wrote a small report about our reading book to put what we have learnt into practice.

In Geography, we made our own water filtering systems. We used different sizes of rocks and said to create our filter and then poured dirty water into it. The water came out of the funnel much cleaner. We have been looking at how dirty water is treated and cleaned to ensure that it is safe for us to drink.

In Computing, we Sequenced some sounds using the musical instrument Sprites. We enjoyed making different patterns of sound which played when we pressed an operation button. We ended up making a band out of our different sequences.

Another week of swimming had everyone trying really hard with their kicking. We had a lot of children making sure that their feet didn't touch the floor as they kicked to the other side of the pool. We're really proud of the developing confidence in the water!

Just a reminder that our PE days are still Monday and Friday to accommodate swimming. Children should be coming to school in uniform on every other day. Thank you for your support with this.

Have an amazing weekend all,

Mrs Brunyard, Miss Cluderay and Mrs Savory.
