Willow Class Weekly Newsletter 21.11.25

We have had a wonderfully busy and engaging week in Year 6. In Reading, the children have continued to enjoy our class text The Boy at the Back of the Class. We have been developing our comprehension skills by comparing characters, exploring their similarities, differences, and the ways their actions contribute to the story. The discussions have been thoughtful and full of insight.

In Writing, we have begun our unit on diary writing. The class has explored key features of an effective diary entry, including the use of relative clauses and punctuation for parenthesis to add extra detail and emotion. The children have enjoyed experimenting with these techniques in their own writing.

In Maths, we have been tackling fractions, focusing specifically on multiplying and dividing them. The children have shown great resilience and are becoming increasingly confident in applying their skills to more challenging problems.

In R.E, we have been learning about the concept of Incarnation and what it means within the Christian faith. We also explored the meaning of the word Messiah and why this term is so significant.

Next week will be our final week for swimming- the children have all made brilliant progress over the term.

Well done to this week’s certificate winner Tristan.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Bliss and Mr Jones
