Not long until Christmas, the school is starting to look festive!

This week we have shared the book 'You can't take an Elephant on the Bus' by Patricia Cleveland-Peck. It's a really funny story exploring why certain animals can't use certain vehicles. The whale can't use a bicycle because it has no feet! It has given the children the opportunity to use conjunctions (and, but, because) in their writing.

In maths we have completed our unit about shape and have started to learn about 'Place Value within 20'. The children are showing a good understanding of how teen numbers are made up of one ten and then a number of ones. For example: 15 has 1 ten and 5 ones. It is important that they write the 1 to represent the tens first. 15 is very different to 51!

Thank you for the contributions to the tombola. The Christmas Fair is always very popular and we like to do everything we can to make it a great success after school on Monday 8th December.

Please continue to support your child with their reading at home. We read in school but it makes a huge difference to their fluency and accuracy the more that they read.
