Happy Friday!
For Parliament week we have been voting for which story to read at the end of the day. The children have also picked a picture to take home to colour in for the colouring competition, which the school council have organised.

This week, we have been looking at 'The Christmas Story'. In drawing club. the children drew Mary and Joseph and a place for them to stay. We have been busy practicing our nativity for the performances next Friday. Your child's part and any items needed to be brought to school were put on tapestry last week and a letter has been sent out. If you have missed these please let us know. Thank you to all those who have brought plain clothing in.
Our certificate winner this week is Eva. She has been trying hard and joining in well, especially during our phonics sessions.
In phonics, we have been looking at sh, th, ng and nk. The children are working hard to blend words and you can help them at home by making up words using their sound cards and listening to them read their phonics books and group read books. Please record in the reading records when you hear them read or share stories at home. Thank you.
In Maths, we have been looking at ways to make 5. The children have noticed that in the 5, there is a 4 and 1, 3 and 2, 3 and 2 1's and 5 1's.

The children thoroughly enjoyed our pantomime this afternoon. It was a great way to end our super week.
We hope you have a nice weekend.
Mrs Fairclough and Mrs Kenny
