Hazel - 21.3.25

Good afternoon,

This week we have come to the end of our poetry unit. The children have created some lovely poems with clear rhyming couplets and have included some great extra detail. To conclude the unit we decided to create a class poem, please have a read below.

Also this week, in maths, we have come to the end of our fractions unit; the children have done a very good job getting to know their fractions understanding the denominator and numerator. Next week in maths we are going to go back and consolidating some of our learning on addition and subtraction and the formal methods that are used for these with increasingly larger numbers. In science this week we continued our study of rocks and looked at how fossils were made and why we find fossils more frequently in certain places. As we continued our study of ancient Egypt, we looked into the their mathematical system and had a go at writing some of the numbers using their system.

As always reading at home is very important. We need to make sure this remains a high priority please keep encouraging your children to read at home and bring in their reading books and reading records daily.

I hope you all have a fun weekend,

Mr Reynolds
