Chestnut Newsletter 6.6.25

Welcome back, everyone! We are now into the exciting last stretch of Year 1, and all the children are gearing up to prepare for Year 2.

This week, we have been focusing on practice for our Phonics Screening Check, which will happen next week. There is absolutely nothing to worry about; all the children are used to the process and will take it in their stride. Just make sure they have had a good night's sleep and a nutritious breakfast to start the day right!

Next Friday is our Sports Day. All the children have been invited to come to school in a coloured T-shirt to match their house colour. We have made sure that they all know which house they are in and the associated colour. Yesterday, they were all given a small slip with their house and colour on to bring home. There is absolutely no need to go out and buy a new T-Shirt, their normal white P.E. top will be just fine!

Wrekin - yellow

Haughmond - red

Grinshill - green

Caradoc - blue

Please make sure that your child has a clean water bottle in school everyday. Ideally, this will have a straw or sport's cap so that the lid does not need to be completely removed for them to have a drink.
