Oak Newsletter - 30.1.26

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had a busy and enjoyable week in class, with lots of exciting learning across the curriculum. Here’s a snapshot of what the children have been up to:

Inspire Afternoon – Monday

On Monday, we were delighted to welcome Shropshire Science for our Inspire Afternoon. The children took part in hands-on activities and investigations that really brought science to life. They asked thoughtful questions and showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the session.

Maths

In Maths, we have been focusing on multiplying fractions. The children worked hard to develop their understanding using practical resources and visual models before applying their skills to calculations and problem-solving.

English

In English, the class has been busy writing newspaper reports. They explored the key features of a report, such as headlines, quotations, and formal language, and worked carefully to organise their ideas clearly and effectively.

PE

During PE on Friday, we focused on attacking and defending skills in football. The children practised teamwork, movement, and tactical awareness, showing excellent cooperation and resilience.

In Art, the children finished their landscape artwork, using newspaper collage to add texture and detail. The final pieces look fantastic, and the children took great pride in their work.
