Chestnut Newsletter 4.4.25

There has been lots going on this week!

I'm sure the children all told you about their instruction writing and their treat that followed. They were very motivated to complete their work! They have also written an independent assessment piece retelling the story of a man stranded in his airship who is rescued by flying turtles.

This week we have started to think about multiplication by counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. We have also spent time making equal groups and spotting unequal groups. Ask your child to show you 5 groups of 3 or 2 groups of 10 using small objects in the home. Children will often confuse the number of groups with how many are in the group.

It is great that the weather is getting warmer. Please make sure your child has a fresh water bottle with them every day. Bottles with a straw or sport's top are preferable as they are less likely to spill. Our classrooms can get rather warm in the afternoons.

Have a fab weekend,

Mrs Dowell, Mrs Armstrong and Mr Jones.
