Chestnut Newsletter 21.3.25

These weeks are going so fast, hopefully some warmer weather is on its way too!

This week our book has encouraged the children to think about how important bees are. We have talked about how they spread pollen which helps plants to produce seeds. The book also highlights what happens in each season as we move through the year.

In maths lessons we have started to explore mass and volume. The children have enjoyed estimating, comparing and measuring the mass of objects in the classroom.

Useful Vocabulary: lighter, heavier, equal, lightest, heaviest, balanced.

Next week we will start to measure capacity and volume.

The children have started to learn about Palm Sunday and how important Easter is to Christians.

Many children enjoy using Mathletics in school. Every child has their own Username and Password which they have in their Reading Record. If you have internet access at home, your child can access this at home absolutely free! They need to collect 1000 points over a week to earn a certificate on a Monday.

Please keep reading little and often, even if it is just a couple of sentences, it all adds up.
