Willow Weekly News 23.5.25

What a fantastic and busy half term it has been! We are incredibly proud of all the children and the hard work they have put into their learning over the past few weeks. Their dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm have truly shone through, and it’s been a pleasure to see them growing in confidence and maturity as we move closer to the end of the school year.

This week has been full of exciting and enriching learning opportunities. In Writing, the children tackled the topical question: Should SATs be banned? They worked hard to craft persuasive letters, using a wide range of features such as emotive language, rhetorical questions, and strong arguments. It was fantastic to see them expressing their opinions so clearly and persuasively.

In History, we explored life in Ancient Greece by comparing two famous city-states: Sparta and Athens. The children took part in lively debates, considering aspects such as education, lifestyle, and government. After weighing up the pros and cons, they cast their votes on which city they would prefer to live in — a thought-provoking activity that sparked great discussion.

In Art, we brought our flower sketches to life by adding colour. The children showed great care in choosing colours and adding detail, transforming their pencil drawings into vibrant works of art. The results were stunning and showed a real sense of creativity and thought.

Well done to this weeks Golden Certificate winner, Olivia.

We wish you a restful and enjoyable half-term break!
