Hazel Weekly Newsletter 21.11.25

It’s been so cold we’ve made sure we’ve stayed warm and busy this week.

In English we have started a new class text! We are reading Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo and are really excited to get stuck into it! In our writing we have been looking at character descriptions, and linking these to our prior knowledge of WW2.

In Maths we have been learning our 2, 4 and 8 times tables in our Multiplication and Division topic. We have used BBC Supermovers to support our knowledge and keep active whilst learning.

In Science, we continued on with our current topic ‘Light’ and looked at how light sources work to help us see. We know that we need a light source to shine on items and then this reflects into our eyes.

In Computing, we continued with our Animation topic by looking at how we can create animations using Stop Motion on the IPad and creating our own storyboards that we can turn into a stop motion animation of our own next week.

In History we discussed what people did for fun in war time and listened to some war time songs.

A quick reminder to please ensure that school jumpers and coats are sent into school with the children, as it is very cold currently. Please ensure that these are school jumpers as in line with our uniform policy.

Well done to our certificate winners this week!

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Brunyard, Miss Cluderay and Mrs Savory
