Hazel - 27.9.24

Good afternoon,

What a week we have had in Hazel. We have continued with our descriptive work in English, lots of the class are now really thinking about how they can best describe the character or setting whilst ensuring they are creating complete sentences. In maths we have continued to explore place value and have been testing our understanding on number lines to 1,000.

Continuing our exploration of WW2, we have looked at the armed forces and all of the equipment they would have carried. This has then linked to our reading of D-Day Dog, when our main character is also researching about WW2. In geography we have tried to create a map of the school, thinking about what we could use as a key to help people identify where everything is.

One child who has focused particularly well in lessons this week and has also been helping others and is this week's Certificate Winner is Chayton - congratulations.

This week we came third again in the attendance, please keep helping the children get to school on time and hopefully we can climb the leader-board.

Please keep encouraging the children to read aloud each night and record it in their reading records.

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Mr Reynolds
