Hazel - 14.3.25

Good afternoon,

This week in Hazel we started our new English topic looking at poetry; we explored the rhyming patterns and then tried to make some ourselves. In maths we have been looking at fractions and using vocabulary such as denominator and numerator, the children have really excelled at this so I am looking forward to what next week brings. In history we had a big discussion about the Ancient Egyptians medicine techniques. We were quite impressed with some of their methods but agreed that we were glad some were not used today.

This week was British Science Week, so as part of this we carried out three different investigations into rocks and looked at their properties. We carried out a 'Hardness investigation', 'Buoyancy investigation' and a 'Permeability investigation'. The children carried out the investigations well and had some great discussions.

As always please keep up the reading at home, those who are reading consistently are really showing what they can do in class.

Hope you all have a great weekend,

Mr Reynolds
