Another great book this week! 'Harry and his bucketful of Dinosaurs make a Splash!' by Ian Whybrow.

Harry goes to the Water Park with his Nan and sister. They're a little nervous at first but soon build up their courage to have a go on the slide! We wrote a diary entry pretending to be Harry. All the children are working really hard to form their letters correctly - well done!

In maths, the children have completed their first assessment of Place Value within 10. They all tried their best and were super stars! They will be bringing them home to show you what they have been getting up to. Please help your child to order random numbers within 10. For example:

Put these numbers in order from smallest to greatest 5, 3, 8.

In geography the children drew their house and identified the type of house they live in: detached, semi-detached, terraced... We have looked at houses within the local area.

I am amazed at the details they are remembering from The Gunpowder Plot! The children are fascinated with the past and how people lived long ago; The Gunpowder Plot was in 1605, over 400 years ago.

On Tuesday, we will be tasting a variety of foods (crisps, fresh lemon, dark chocolate, cookies and cheese) to identify them as sweet, salty, sour, bitter or savoury. Please let me know if you do not wish your child to take part.

Please make sure your child has their Reading Record and reading books in school EVERYDAY.

Some children have brought home their Little Wandle reading book for the first time this year. Please encourage them to read to you little and often. Books need to be returned each Monday.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Dowell and Mrs Savory.
