Willow Weekly Newsletter 6.3.26

This week has been a fantastic one in Year 6, and the sunshine has certainly helped to keep spirits high!

In Writing, we responded to a (very serious!) letter from Mr Hortons about shortening playtimes. The children wrote thoughtful and persuasive replies, showing an excellent understanding of the key features needed to convince a reader. There were some very strong arguments for keeping our well-earned break times!

In Maths, we have been exploring area and perimeter. This week, we focused on calculating the area of triangles and rectilinear shapes, applying our knowledge carefully and accurately.

In Geography, we learned about coastal features, including arches and stacks, as well as bays and beaches.

On Thursday, we enjoyed a wonderful World Book Day filled with book reviews, creative illustrations and sharing stories with younger children. What a brilliant week!

Well done to this week’s certificate winner Grace.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Bliss, Mr Jones and Mrs Mooney
