Sycamore Newsletter - 6/11/26
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a really positive first week back after half term, and it has been lovely to see the children returning to school with such enthusiasm and ready to learn.
In English, we have started revisiting character descriptions. We have been thinking about how to make our writing more creative by experimenting with different sentence structures and choosing descriptive vocabulary to bring our characters to life.
In Maths, we have moved on to times tables. So far, we have been focusing on the 3 and 6 times tables, developing our recall and building confidence when answering multiplication questions.
In History, we have started our exciting new topic on the Romans. The children have begun exploring this fascinating period of history, and I am looking forward to seeing what else we discover over the coming weeks.
In PE, we have been exploring different types of leaps and jumps, experimenting with a range of movements and thinking about how we can combine these to create different sequences.
As always, please continue to encourage daily reading at home. Even a few minutes each day makes a real difference to the children's confidence, fluency and enjoyment of reading.
I hope you have a great weekend,
Mr Reynolds
