Good afternoon,
We have had a very busy week in Sycamore Class, from our normal class work, to completing tests and of course yesterday's 'Inspire Afternoon'.
Thank you to everyone who was able to come yesterday, I hope you had a fun afternoon with us and you are all looking forward to the children bringing home their Roman shields. Here are a few pictures from yesterday's work.
In maths we are continuing with multiplication and division, next week we will be looking at our 12 times-table. Please keep encouraging the children to log on to Mathletics to help consolidate their understanding of what we are covering in class.
For our history topic, on the Romans, we explored the role Boudicca played and how she tested the Roman military. While in geography we looked at the land use in Rome and compared it to Shrewsbury, discovering how similar certain parts are but also how different others are.
We only have a handful of children who are currently reading regularly at home, which has resulted in less quizzes being taken and passed, and a slowing down in the race to get to our word target. Please keep encouraging the children to read at home - it makes a huge difference.
I hope you all have a great weekend,
Mr Reynolds
