Sycamore - 26.9.25

Good afternoon,

This week we have finished out maths unit on Place Value, the children will have brought home their tests to show you their very good scores and if they have 1 or 2 areas to just check on. These can be consolidated on Mathletics, where the children have a final few tasks to complete before we start out new unit next week.

In English we have started our new topic on explanation texts, the children have already done a very good job of getting to know and using the features. I am hoping next week, when we write about volcanoes, the children will keep up this great attitude.

Our target for reading this half term is 500,000 words. With four weeks to go we are a little way off, please keep encouraging the children to read and check they've understood what they have read.
