Good afternoon,
This week the children have worked very hard on creating short stories, making sure they make sense and have an interesting problem whilst also including expanded noun phrases, a range of conjunctions and correctly punctuated speech. There have been some very good and interesting stories for me to read and mark.
In maths we have finished our unit on addition and subtraction, and the children should have brought home their tests. Remember there are tasks set on Mathletics to help the children consolidate their understanding. We have now moved on to area, exploring the space within a 2-D shape.
For science we finished our unit on Animals including Humans by researching and creating a fact file on an endangered animal. Exploring why certain animals are endangered and what is happening about it. The children chose a range of animals and found some very interesting facts.

Our reading as a class seems to have slowed down a little bit after our very promising start to the new year, please keep encouraging the children to read daily and check that they have understood what they have read.
I hope you all have a good weekend,
Mr Reynolds
