Military Vehicle Visit

Year 3 and Year 5 were very lucky this morning to have a visit from some military vehicles, which supports our WWII topics.

The AEC Matador Gun Tractor was used by the British and Commonwealth Forces in World War 2. It was famous for towing large guns, carrying crews and serving in lots of other different roles.

The Scammel Pioneer was a type of tractor truck that was used before and during World War 2. It was used as an artillery tractor, recovery vehicle and tank transporter due to its size and 6 wheel base.

Both classes were able to look around the vehicles and ask questions to further their learning. They had a fantastic time discussing how they moved and what they were used for.
