What an amazing first week back in Hazel Class! We’ve had a lovely break and have started off the final school term really well.

In English, we have started a new book for our Reading lessons. We are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In our Writing, we have been practicing Character Descriptions but with a focus on how the character is moving as well as what they look like.
In Maths, we have been revisiting Place Value from our Autumn Term. We are reminding ourselves how to represent numbers up to 1000, which will be supporting our new learning as we move through the term.
In DT, we started our new topic of Edible Garden which will focus on food throughout the term. We started off by looking at the different names of some herbs and planning a garden. We will have a go planting some of these next week.
In PSHE, we talked about Mindfulness and what it was. We thought about different ways we could practice mindfulness, such as breathing techniques, reading or colouring.
In PE, we started two new topics. In Net and Wall Games, we looked at the fundamentals of balance and footwork. In Invasion Games, we practiced teamwork skills and communication. Just a reminder that our PE days for this term are Mondays and Thursdays.
We hope you have a great weekend,
Mrs Brunyard, Miss Cluderay and Mrs Savory
