These weeks are going so fast!
Thank you for your trip responses, all the children are excited and are counting down the days.
In English this week, we have enjoyed sharing the book 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch'. Our focus has been on identifying verbs and then using them to write instructions for making a sandwich.

Our new maths topic is Fractions. The children have learnt that when a whole is spilt into two equal groups, each part is called a half. They are beginning to link halving and doubling. I have shown the children a free maths game which they can access at home: Hit the Button.
They need to focus on NumberBonds up to 10 and 20, Doubles to 10 and Halves to 10 to begin with. This will help with their speedy recall of number facts.
In history, they have made a fossil as part of their learning about Mary Anning. Next week they will be acheologists and carefully reveal their fossil!
Have a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend!
Mrs Dowell, Mrs Mitchell and Mr Jones.
