Beech Class Weekly News 8.5.26

Happy Friday!

It has been a short, but busy week.

This week we have been looking at the story 'Tiddler'. The children have enjoyed joining in with the story, thinking of their own excuse why Tiddler is late, using the net to collect sea creatures and talking and writing about what they can see in our curiosity cube.

In Maths, we have been continuing to look at numbers beyond 10. We have been building numbers to 20 and noticing patterns. The children noticed 1 ten and the number of ones.

They have also used their subitising skills to notice amounts within a number. For example seeing 3 and 2 and knowing it is 5 as 3 +2 = 5

In our outdoor area we have set up a supermarket.

Our certificate winner this week is Carter. He has been a great friend by looking after his friends if they have fallen over or been sad and is now able to put on his coat by himself. Well done, Carter!

The children really benefit from reading at home. Please listen to them as much as you can and ensure they bring their reading records, sound cards and books to school daily. Thank you.

We hope you have a great weekend.
