This week we have been looking at the story 'Poles Apart'. The children enjoyed drawing Mr White and what could be in the picnic basket. They made food for a picnic out of playdough and sorted food to set the table. We talked about the North and South Poles and where different animals live, then found different countries on the globe and world map. We found England and used Google Earth to find our school. The children then enjoyed making their own maps.

In Maths, we have looked at ways to make 6, 7 and 8 and putting things in groups of 2. After learning about pairs and groups of 2, some children then put their snack into groups of 2.

Our certificate winner this week is Maggie for her fantastic maths. She used some great mathematical language and continued her learning during child initiated activities too. Well done!
The children really enjoyed going out to explore our new outdoor area at the end of the week.
We hope you have a nice weekend.
Mrs Fairclough, Mrs Kenny and Miss Nicholas.
