Beech Class Weekly News 23.1.26

Happy Friday!

We started our week with a visit from two junior parkrun volunteers and began our brillant brushers. The children are really enjoying brushing their teeth at school each day and have brought home a toothbrush and toothpaste which they could use to brush their teeth at home.

This week we have been looking at the story 'Lost and Found'. The children have been enjoying making boats and homes in the construction area, playing with penguins and making their own penguins.

The children are trying hard to blend words and you can help your child by practising their sound cards, hearing them read and sharing stories at home.

In phonics we have gone over the following sounds:

This week, we have been looking at 'oo' for zoom, 'oo' for book, 'ar' and 'or'.

In Maths, we have been looking at 6, 7, and 8. We have been looking at what these numbers look like, e.g. one full 5 frame and 1 of the next 5 frame, and ways to make 6, 7 and 8.

Thank you to all those who have brought back parents evening slips.

Our certificate winner this week is Lottie. She has been very courageous putting her hand up and talking to adults and her peers. Lottie has also shown our school value compassion, by being a good friend and helping her peers. Well done!

We hope you have a great weekend.

Mrs Fairclough, Mrs Kenny and Miss Nicholas.
