Beech Class Newsletter 4.7.25

What 'Super' week we have had this week! Starting with move-up morning, where the children spent some time with Mrs Dowell and then reading the story "Superworm" by Julia Donaldson.

The children have had some brilliant ideas for writing in Drawing Club, written independently about what they would do with a Superworm and some children created 'Missing' posters for him too.

We have all learned a lot this week about worms, how they live and move and why they are good for our gardens and lots of the children have been busy making wormeries to observe over the last couple of weeks of term.

They have also created some fabulous salt dough worm ornaments which they then painted and added eyes to before adding them to our small world area. I am sure you'll agree they look brilliant.

In Maths we have been working hard on solving addition problems and using number facts to help us find different ways of making the same number. The children are finding it difficult to recall their number bonds to 5 and 10 and we do practice them every day so keep testing them at home too to see if they can remember!

Well done to Mia, Ellie and Poppy who all won a Crowmoor coin this week for reading 5 times at home. It is so important the children keep practising their reading at home as much as possible. Just a few minutes a day makes all the difference! Please don't forget to record in their reading records so we know they have read.

I can't believe we are approaching the final fortnight of the children being in Beech Class. We will be continuing our routine right to the end of term, so daily phonics, writing and maths in the mornings and regular reading throughout the week. Please ensure the children have their book bags in school each day with their reading records and reading books in. Thank you.

Friday the 11th will be our final PE session of the term as the final Friday when we break up for the summer is a half day.

I will be sending out letters about Tapestry end of year procedures in the next week or so. If you have any issues accessing Tapestry please let me know via the class email beech@crowmoorschool.co.uk so we can resolve them before the end of the year so you will be able to download a copy of your child's journal to keep.

Have a lovely weekend.
