What a wonderfully busy week we have had. It started with seeing the ducklings, then pancake day, then World Book Day yesterday! It seemed quite strange having a relatively normal day today! Hopefully you have been able to catch up with what we have been up to on Tapestry but if not please let me know.
This is a little snapshot of how fantastic our class looked yesterday:

Despite our busy week of events we have still managed to do some super work in Drawing Club after listening to the story 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson and they have created some great jungle characters from recycled cardboard that they have then used in their small world play.
In Phonics they have been reading words with Phase 3 digraphs in, practicing blending them to read and starting to recognise some words we have read many times. Next week they will be reading words with double letters and longer words, learning how to 'chunk' them to make them easier to read e.g. fan/tas/tic
In Maths we have started looking at number bonds to 10, finding as many combinations as we can of two numbers that make 10. We will continue this week next week as we also revisit doubles and odd and even numbers.
Next week is Science Week, which we are really excited about and the theme is 'Adapting to Change'. We will be exploring how living things adapt to their environment and how other things can change - colour, materials etc. They will be making their own junk model animal, so if you have any small, clean, cardboard or plastic recycling we would be very grateful if you could send it in next week. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend in the Spring sunshine!
