Good afternoon,
We have had a very positive first week back and the children have settled quickly into their learning routines.
In English, we have continued reading Street Child and the children are thoroughly enjoying the story. They have shown great enthusiasm during our discussions and are becoming increasingly engaged with the characters and events. There has been lots of excitement about what might happen next, and many children are particularly interested to find out what Jim will decide to do as the story unfolds.
In Maths, we have been consolidating our understanding of the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The children have worked hard to apply these skills and demonstrate their understanding through a range of activities. Next week, we will be moving on to our new unit on shape.

In geography this half term we will be exploring rainforests and in computing we are going back to looking at programming, with the end goal of creating our own game.
Please keep up the daily reading at home, we have an ambitious target of 5,000,000 words to meet by the end of the term.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Mr Reynolds
