Sycamore Newsletter - 23.1.26

Good afternoon,

Before I recap our week, I would just like to clarify our weekly timetable.

For this term:

• on Friday we go swimming, please can you check that the children just bring what they require for swimming, there are no products, no sprays etc.

• we only have PE on a Wednesday, the children need to come in to school wearing their PE kit - this includes trainers.

• the rest of the week the children should be wearing their school uniform.

This week I have been very impressed at a lot of the children's presentation, they are continuing to meet the expectations of year 4 and I am sure when you come in for parents evening in a few weeks you will also be impressed.

In English we have been looking at non-chronological reports and had a go at creating our own on an animal. For maths we are still exploring multiplication and division, and have been looking at formal methods for these calculations.

In art we have been using charcoal to test out our blending skills whilst still adding detail.

Some children have started to finish their reading records because of the amount of reading they are doing which is excellent. Please keep encouraging your child to read at home. We have one more reading test before Parents Evening and it will be great to share their progress.
