We have had another fantastic week of learning and are incredibly proud of all the children's hard work and enthusiasm!

🔢 Maths

In Maths, we continued our work on place value, focusing specifically on comparing and partitioning numbers. The children have been developing their understanding of how numbers can be broken down into different parts and using their knowledge to compare values confidently.

✍️ Writing

Our writing lessons have been linked closely to our World War II topic. The children produced some wonderful detailed and descriptive character descriptions of an evacuee, using ambitious vocabulary and powerful descriptions to bring their characters to life.

🚂 History

To support our writing, we explored the role of trains during World War II and discussed why they were so important at the time. We also compared them to modern-day trains, helping the children to understand how transport has changed over the years.

🏊 PE

In PE, we continued with our swimming lessons. It has been fantastic to see the children growing in confidence and developing their swimming skills each week. Their determination and positive attitudes have been wonderful to see.

✈️ Science

You may have noticed your children bringing home paper aeroplanes this week! In Science, we have been investigating air resistance, carrying out experiments to discover how changing the surface area of an object affects the amount of air resistance it experiences. The children enjoyed making predictions, testing their ideas, and discussing their findings.

🎉 Looking Ahead

We have had a great week, and there is even more excitement to come! We are all looking forward to our visit to RAF Cosford on Wednesday, where the children will have the opportunity to extend their learning and experience history and science in a real-world setting.
