It has been wonderful welcoming the children back to school this week and seeing them settle back into the routines of classroom life so quickly. We have had a fantastic start to the term and the children have worked incredibly hard as they have got back into the swing of lessons.

âž• Maths

In Maths, we have been learning and developing our place value knowledge. The children have been exploring the value of digits within numbers and practising their understanding through a range of activities.

đź“– Reading

In Reading, we have begun our new class novel, The Letter from the Lighthouse. The children have already shown great enthusiasm for the story and are looking forward to finding out more about the characters and events as we continue reading.

✍️ Writing

In Writing, we have started looking at character descriptions, focusing on an evacuee from World War II. The children have discussed effective descriptive language and begun exploring how authors create vivid and engaging characters.

🏊 Swimming

We ended our week on a high with our swimming lesson. The children represented Oak Class brilliantly and showed excellent effort and enthusiasm in the pool.

đź“‹ Trip Reminder

Children will be coming home today with a trip letter. Please ensure that all permission slips are completed and returned to school by Thursday 17th September.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead!
