🧮 Maths
This week, we have continued our learning on addition and subtraction. The children have been using inverse operations to check their answers and solve problems involving missing values. We have focused on understanding how addition and subtraction are linked and how this can help us become more confident and accurate mathematicians.
📰 Writing
In Writing, we have begun exploring newspaper reports. The children have looked at the key features of a newspaper article and have started planning and writing their own reports. We have focused on engaging headlines, factual information, and writing in a formal style.
🔬 Science
In Science, we carried out an exciting investigation into air resistance. The children tested parachutes of different sizes to see how size affected the speed at which they fell. They made predictions, recorded their results, and discussed what they discovered from the experiment.
🏊 PE (Swimming)
The children continued to develop their swimming skills this week, building their confidence and technique in the water. It has been fantastic to see the progress, determination, and resilience shown by everyone during their swimming sessions.
🌍 Geography
In Geography, we have been learning about compass points and how they help us navigate from one place to another. The children practised giving and following directions using the points of a compass and explored how maps can help us find our way.
⭐ Have a lovely weekend! ⭐
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead! 😊
