We've had an amazing week! It was wonderful to see so many of you at Sports Day. The children loved sharing their day with you, thank you!
This week's book was about a little boy who is quiet during the day but transforms into a Midnight Superhero. He tames lions, rescues ships, retrieves stolen crown jewels, and saves the world with his meteor-blasting rocket launcher!

The children have composed a letter for their new teacher, which they will give to Miss Hipkiss on Monday. They are eagerly looking forward to their Year 2 taster morning!
In maths, we have been reinforcing all the concepts they have learned this year, starting with addition and subtraction using a number line. Mastering these basic skills is crucial. Please continue practicing telling the time: o'clock and half past.
We have just ten days remaining in Year 1, and I aim to ensure they are filled with fun and joy. I am extremely proud of the progress every child has made in Chestnut Class. Well done!
Please ensure they bring their reading books every day.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Dowell, Mrs Mitchell, and Mr Jones.
