What a scorcher this week has been!
The children have all been very sensible in trying to stay cool. We have had lots of water breaks and stayed in the shade as much as possible.

We have been learning to tell the time to the hour and half past the hour. The children understand that the long hand is the minute hand, while the short hand indicates the hour. Please assist your child in practising their new skill of telling the time using o'clock and half past.

Everyone has enjoyed our book this week, "Superhero Bunny League Saves the World" by Jamie Smart. It is a comic book style text that they have all engaged with very well. They created their own comic book story inspired by the text and even wrote some speech bubbles for their characters.
Weather allowing, our Sports Day is scheduled for next Tuesday! Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their PE kit, equipped with a water bottle and a sun hat. We've been practicing the races and are excited to participate. We hope you can join us.
As we approach the last weeks of Year 1, it's important to keep reading regularly to sustain the excellent progress made this year.
Have a fab weekend,
Mrs Dowell, Mrs Mitchell and Mr Jones.
