What a busy and exciting week we have had!
On Monday, all of the children took part in the Phonics Screening Check. I am incredibly proud of the fantastic progress they have made in phonics this year. They approached the challenge with confidence and enthusiasm—well done, everyone!
In Maths, we have started learning about money and have been exploring British coins and notes. If possible, please encourage your child to sort, count, and identify any coins you may have at home. With the increasing use of contactless payments, many children have had limited opportunities to handle coins and were surprised to discover just how many different ones there are!
In Geography, the children have been developing their map-reading skills. They created their own maps of the classroom and then used them to give directions to a partner, helping them place an object in the correct location. This was a great deal of fun, and the children did an excellent job of following and giving clear directions.
Our story this week was Charlie's Superhero Underpants by Paul Bright. The children thoroughly enjoyed following Charlie's adventure as he searched for his superhero underpants after they blew off the washing line! The story also provided a wonderful introduction to different countries around the world and sparked lots of interesting discussions.
Well done to everyone for another week of hard work, enthusiasm, and learning!

Have a fab weekend but please keep reading little and often,
