Happy Friday!
Thank you so much for all the baby photos that were sent in, the children really enjoyed trying to guess who was who. We read the story 'Once there were giants' and talked about how they have changed. The children have also created a self portrait of themselves to go in our home corner and decorated a photo frame which they have brought home today.
Our certificate winner this week is Norah. She has settled well into school and been courageous with her learning, especially in phonics. The children are really enjoying our phonics sessions and thank you to all the parents who are practising sound cards and sharing stories at home. This week the children have learnt 'i', 'n', 'm' and 'd'.
Our story this week has been 'The Magic Porridge Pot'. The children liked imaging what they would like to have in a magic pot, drawing the wizard and the wizard shop. We created actions to our words: enchanted, despair, endless, cease, gloopy and steaming. In Maths, they have been using some great mathematical language such as compare, more, less and fewer.
Please remember to bring back the parents evening forms if you haven't already. It will be a great chance to talk about your child and how they have settled into school.
